Yeah, I shouldn't use "just", but the is the first white headed Hawk I have ever seen. So when I was taking the photos my mind went to rough-legged, thus when I saw my pics on the computer, it was "just" a Red-tailed.

Hasan
Any other photos? Particularly showing tail pattern? Edited October 27, 2021 by Hasan
Ed hogg
I think that this is a Krider's Red-tailed Hawk. It is pale enough and the weird malar stripe rules out most other hawk species. Macaulay Library ML134465691

Macaulay Library ML134465691 That seems like a strong possibility to me, but I don't know how you'd rule out something like leucism from these photos.
Quiscalus quiscula
Belly looks pretty light to me, probably not Rough-legged. Isn't Krider's more northern great plains? I stay away from subspecies mostly.

According to eBird, Krider's is most common in winter in the lower Mississippi Valley but can certainly occur in East Texas. Incidentally, the Raptor ID people on Facebook, who I'm always mentioning, say light-morph Harlan's can look a lot like Krider's.

Yes, exactly, which is why I asked for a shot of the tail. This bird is not identifiable to subspecies, though I'm personally not really buying it as a Krider's.
Nivalis
Red-tails confuse me profoundly... But I agree that this is one
