smskelton
I think this bird is a Hepatic Tanager. It was observed in Southern Arizona about ten miles from the Mexican Border. There were two other tanagers in the area, a Summer Tanager and a Western Tanager. A lot of things about this bird match the description but the yellow band on the breast is not something I have seen before.
Kevin
Hepatic Tanager. The bill is wrong for Summer, and the coloring is off for western. Also young birds changing into adult plumage often have yellowish colors on them.
