Yes sir!

vegetarian? I just don't know what to think about you anymore, I have never known a vegetarian, well, I might have met one sometime before, but I don't remember it.

So why are you a vegetarian?

That is a stupid question, your a vegetarian because your parents are. So why are your parents vegetarians?

I’m not a vegetarian because my parents are, I’m a vegetarian because of what my parents taught me and what I believe to be true from the Bible and science.

Long answer about why I’m a vegetarian would fill up a whole page.
Short answer is, I was born in a hospital, and I’ve never been back. Don’t plan to be.

Good for you! I have great respect for someone who believes in something and will stick with it no mater what "popular opinion" is, even if I have a totality different view(Not that I have a strong opinion one way or the other, about this.) Most people I see out there(particularly young people), decide what they think on what everyone else thinks, not because they have been taught to think for themselves, and figure out what makes sense.

I guess it's not a shock to find vegetarians on a birding site...

I get the impression that being vegetarian is having a bit of a resurgence there these days? It was very popular when I was in college and shortly afterwards  but then seemed to be less common.

That’s my man!! So many people need a brain, a backbone, and some guts, if you know what I mean.

Some birds that could be considered largely vegan are: geese, parrots, doves, quail, sparrows, waxwings and finches.  It saddens me to see all of the obese people around the planet as I travel.  The problem is complicated but much of the solution is what we eat.  I went mostly vegetarian(fish once in a while) years ago.  Slowly lost 50 lbs. (no longer BIGOLY) and now I'm old as dirt, no health issues and happy.

There are a lot of vegetarians where I live, especially among the younger generation. I wouldn’t be surprised if 10-20% of people around where I live are vegetarian.
