Charlie Spencer
The turkey breast was marinated in apple cider and herbs. Since we had dinner with friends, it wasn't touched until Friday. Excellent turkey - cranberry - Swiss cheese sandwiches.

meghann
Out here in New Mexico at my dad's, we had pie and ice cream first, at lunchtime, which was fun. (Apple, Blackberry, Pumpkin, Key Lime, and Buttermilk.) Later in the day we had turkey, ham, rolls, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, my homemade cranberry sauce, and green bean casserole. Then the kids and I went back to the motel room and hibernated like bears. ? One thing of note is there were two kinds of green bean casseroles. Normal, and then my dad experimented, because we're in New Mexico. He put hatch green chiles in the other one, and oh my word it was amazing. Highly recommend.

I'm not sure about the Bible angle. Jesus served the disciples fish. I know, wrong forum. Off topic, but important question: Has @Bird Brainbeen on lately? I hope he's okay! Yeah, I totally get a vegetarian diet for health reasons. Sounds awesome but I probably wouldn’t be able to do that given current circumstances. Imo diet isn’t a purely spiritual thing, on the Bible aspect, post-flood or after the start of mosaic law, there’s nothing explicitly against eating meat; there’re even a few instances which it’s mentioned in a positive light. Before that though, I don’t know. But yeah, this is a birding forum, I degress ?

Aaron
One of the theories in human evolution is that the shift to a more meat eating diet and the ability to cook/process that meat is what allowed for the expansion of the human brain in early hominids. As large growing brains require a substantial amount of nutrients which is lower/harder to access in plants due to their cell walls. And then of course with hunting and tracking prey, that requires far more cognitive ability than just eating a leaf. Yet, in a similar sense, eating fruit requires a high level of cognitive ability too, in order to see if it’s ripe enough etc. Which is why if you look at the brain of a howler monkey which is a folivore, it is a lot smaller and smoother than the brains of monekys that are primarily fruigivores/omnivores. Of course, none of that matters today because food can be cooked and protein can come from other sources/supplements and is readily available. That being said, I don’t really eat a lot of meat except for chicken. I eat a lot of chicken…. I’m the person who always orders chicken strips no matter the restaurant so I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have that as an option ?

Clip
Let see we had Turkey, mash potatoes gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato oranges and green bean casserole and that was after appetizers.
