Dan P
Taken 11-26-2021 at Veterans Oasis Park in Maricopa County, AZ. Would this be a Ferruginous Hawk? I went to Arizona for a week for Thanksgiving -- and my first birding excursion outside of Southern California.
AlexHenry
That’s a Red-tailed Hawk, as identified by the stocky structure and the banding on the flight feathers. Ferruginous Hawks have cleaner white on the underside of the flight feathers, as well as more tapered, pointy wings. 5
