And the unmodified photo is in the checklist as well. I'm sure this must violate policies somehow but it's someone being cute not malicious.

Agreed. The photographer is one of the biggest photographer names on ebird.

Yeah, I know. I was just fishing it strange and pointless, but it’s funny.

Your cat's name isn't Jack, is it?

I know that’s a reference but I can’t put my finger on it… he’s actually my grandma’s cat and to my knowledge his name is Kitty!

Jack in the box, is the connection I was trying to make to your Cat In the box.

This kind of Jack in the box, not the fast food one.

Snakes alive!  You never find them critters in a backyard that I patrol!

Chaparral

You might have thunk from Saturday morning cartoons that roadrunners only inhabit the desert regions of Arizona but you will find them patrolling my backyard in Texas.  Incidentally, my nephew Josh Moshier, composes and edits themes for Looney Tunes and has been nominated for Grammies and other musical awards.

Another Ivory-billed Woodpecker report in GA.🙄😄. Not sure whether or not to believe it. (Probably not)

Immediate IBWO ID? Nah, if they actually got good enough looks to immediately say  “holy s*** it’s ivory billed woodpeckers” “and it’s a pair”. then why do they not say anything about why it jumped out at them that it was two IBWOs. I mean come on, it’s a code 6 bird and there’s no field marks written down. They don’t even try, IMO they’re just baloney sandwiching.

I think these are just well-meaning but uninformed people who don't know about Pileated Woodpeckers and how to differentiate them.
