Is avian flu killing the wild bird population?

I heard a story about Cranes dying by the thousands and a quick search for Avian Flu found this story. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-59808888

That story is about Israel so I did a second search for Scotland Avian Flu and found this article, and others. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/third-case-bird-flu-detected-25662394

I'm not sure what opinions @jennifercherian was hoping to discuss other than the sadness at all the death, both from cullings and disease.
