Looks like either a domestic Mallard or a mutt to me too. I doubt anyone can say for sure, and I'm positive it isn't countable anywhere north of the Equator and between Greenland and Midway Island. Speaking of countable and 'unsolicited', you raised the topic of countability yourself in your opening post. Yep saw Birding Boy's reply was hoping for additional input. The bill on this bird just doesn't say mallard to me. And yes I know it isn't countable doesn't keep me from being curious.

I might add that the curled tail feathers show it has Mallard ancestry and it's obviously not a wild Mallard, so that leaves domestic Mallard, mutt, and domestic mutt. EBird should let you report birds as "hybrid/domestic Mallard" or some such, as such thingamabobs are part of our free-living avifauna.

Already done! Knew it was a Mallard of some sort I wanted information like that provided by @Pigeon . Avery
Quick question: I have reported domestic ducks (mallards and muscovys) using the “domestic” or “feral” distinction. On my checklists the species names are grayed out. They also don’t appear on my life list (which is what I want). The only reason I report them is for piece of mind that my checklists are complete. So is a reviewer graying them out, or is it an automatic thing?

The species that aren’t listed as feral or domestic that really shouldn’t count though, will be grayed out b the reviewer starting, well….tomorrow! I could be wrong about that though.

I don’t think the change is supposed to start immediately at the beginning of the year. I believe it’s slowly going to be phased in by reviewers through the coming months. The reviewer in the county I live in has already done it with a few exotics that have shown up in the past. 1
