Guess the 'Unconfirmed' reason! Round 1!

Recommended Posts

Anyone want to take a shot at why these Green Herons are unconfirmed?  There are multiple other sightings of GRHE at this location.  I do notice the accepted ones are between April and September; maybe 21 March is too early for the filters?

Sorry, Charlie, if you weren’t intending for other people to post theirs,

No problem, pile on if you want.

I can't see anything obviously wrong.  As you noted, others have Gray-headeds before and after yours.  Maybe try changing the subspecies to the species, wait a couple of hours to see if that's acceptable, and then change it back?

I found a contact for the local reviewer.

"I checked your posting; Green Heron have been found in your area in the winter, though usually near Harbison Pond rather than Archers Lake (about half a mile as the heron flies - CAS)--your sighting is a week earlier than most early reports, which typically happen at the very end of March.  I found the photos convincing--right shape, I can see the streaking on the throat and the large yellow feet."

So it's accepted now.
