PLEASE HELP WITH ID

Recommended Posts

Sorry - posted pic without message.  Took this picture yesterday in back yard in Douglasville, GA.  I think it may be a White-Throated Sparrow, because of the yellow markings and the, well, the white throat, lol...anyway, the coloring does not look like what I have seen in the past, so maybe this is an immature one or a female?  Thank you.

We get two kinds of White-throated Sparrows here in Georgia, the normal ones, and the tan striped variety, so they can look a bit different. Not a different species, just a color morph.

With White-throated Sparrows, males and females look the same.

Interestingly enough, those two color morphs have a cool dynamic. A male bird can be either morph, as can the female. But, a male tan-striped bird will prefer a female white-striped, and vice versa for breeding.
