So, what are you supposed to do?

Have you ever played Mastermind? It's like that, but with banding codes. Egg means wrong entirely, feather means right letter wrong place, bird means right letter right place.

I haven't played this one yet, but I do Wordle every day, because games like that are right up my alley!

No, I have not played Mastermind, I have never played any type of online games before, except for a deal @akandula posted once.

I am just as confused as before, so you just randomly start typing letters and then try to come up with codes?

Every guess needs to be a valid banding code. Green (bird head)  means the letter is in the right place, yellow (feather) means it’s the right letter but in the wrong place. Gray (egg) letters means they are not part of the solution.

I think you entered the same code as I did on the first line

Likely, it was also the same guess I started with yesterday. Think it needs to be my daily start given the success so far

I used that same guess on BRDL #1. And had 2 letters right and a 3rd in the wrong position. That was another 2-liner.

I'm noting the daily answers so I don't use them again.

Yes, you start by entering a random banding code into the first line. The letters are colour coded after you hit enter to indicate which letters are right, wrong, and close. Deductive skills are used to determine which letters belong, and where they belong, and then that knowledge can be applied to subsequent guesses. Learning which letters are not in the code can be just as helpful as learning which letters are in the code so don't get discouraged if your first or second guess doesn't reveal anything useful.

I'm not a big fan of, or knowledgeable about, banding codes, but I do like Wordle games so I gave BRDL a try.

Hmmm, if someone wanted to make themselves look good all they have to do is reload the page and play again, something that Wordle doesn't allow. Look how good I did today. 😇

Gods, I haven't thought of that game in decades.  I recall it being small enough that a couple of friends would bring it to school and we'd play at lunch.

Mind you, that memory isn't enough to make me give this game or its word predecessor a shot.
