Me too! I usually use a 2021 AOU list with 2200+ species and once I couldn't find it there or a Google search I pulled up this list. Upon getting an actual species name I went back to my AOU list and discovered they have it listed with a different code.

I usually start with the iBird index and if I can't put a usable code together on my own, then I will punch the letters I've already figured out into iBird's Banding Code search and see if anything pops up. I seldom look at lists beyond iBird unless I'm really confused, or the answer isn't in iBird.
