List assisted. A few options once I got the last two letters, lucky pick for the fifth guess. Then that left only one option left.

Got it in 5 earlier, but I can no longer view my guesses to copy over. Only one I remember is ???? as #4.

I will say that this game is definitely a lot harder than Wordle: only four letters per guess, less reliance on vowels, and an entirely new vocabulary. On the plus side, it's a fantastic way to practice banding codes, which are useful when you don't want to spell out longer bird names repeatedly.

Exactly the reason I started doing this game, I had no clue of any of the banding codes, but I now know a few of them.

I've discovered that I knew more of them than I thought I did. Most are pretty logical.

I enjoyed today's.

Also, do folks around here tend to look at lists or field guides? I try to avoid them unless I'm on the last guess and have no idea what fits the pattern.

I think the majority of us try to solve the puzzle without a list or field guide, but won't hesitate to refer to either once we're stumped, whether that's after the first guess or last guess. Some play on the Hard setting within the game, but I think that's a small percentage of us. As long as it's fun, it's all good in my eyes.
