Emeryville Small Gull

Yesterday I got stranded in Emeryville, CA after a biz meeting by rush hour traffic so I wandered down to the Emeryville Marina to wait it out.  I was walking around and noticed a couple of smaller gulls soaring around with the usual suspects.  I went back to the car, snatched up my camera and got only a couple of half way decent photos.  Late afternoon low angle sun gave me some problems.  

I'm worried my desire to turn this into an Iceland Gull is clouding my ID.

This looks better for a Short-billed (formerly Mew) Gull. Iceland’s would have a lot more white on the underwing, and a red spot in addition to other markings on their bills.

Emeryville Marina and Middle Harbor are good spots to see large numbers of Short-billed Gulls in the East Bay
