Peromyscus
This morning I saw my first of the year Solitary Sandpiper and Spotted Sandpiper, and heard my first Rose-breasted Grosbeak singing. A western Palm Warbler was present, the group I was with had excellent views of a singing male Yellow Warbler; neither was a first of the year.

Charlie Spencer
I haven't seen a Dark-eyed Junco in about a month, and no White-throated Sparrows last week. The number of Chipping Sparrows is down to two or three instead of the winter peak of over a dozen at a time. Blue Grosbeaks and Painted Buntings are showing up.
chipperatl
FOY Baltimore Oriole singing in yard this morning. Also had a Blue Jay doing a perfect Broad-winged Hawk call. Merlin even called it as such. Usually it can tell when it is a Blue Jay doing an imitation hawk call. I will put Audio in the audio thread later today.

DEJUs are still around, White-throateds are singing like crazy. Chipping Sparrows STILL haven't arrived, or I just haven't seen them yet.
Peromyscus
This morning I saw my first of year Swainson's Thrush and heard my first Tennessee Warbler and Yellow-throated Vireo. There were two Blue-winged Warblers singing, Baltimore Orioles almost collided with me because they were so intent on amorous pursuits, and I had good views of low and close Warbling Vireos. It was a wonderful sunny morning!

Peromyscus
Back after 2 unplanned on top of 2 planned hours birding: A Canada Warbler was the best of three year birds. A Great Egret landed in the park lake -- it's uncommon at best, especially in spring. I heard a late Hermit Thrush singing, as well as a Swainson's Thrush. In spite of the overcast conditions, it was a wonderful morning.
chipperatl
FOY Marsh Wren and Nashville Warbler. Thought this was the latest FOY NAWA, but looks like the past two years have been 5/8 and 5/5.

IKLland
Lots of Wilson’s warblers, mor hermit warblers, one Nashville warbler, tons of yellow warblers, some late yellow rumped warblers, a ton of Townsend’s warblers, two black throated gray warblers, some migrating orange crowned warblers, lots of warbling vireos, western tanagers, hooded Orioles are completely back, so are black headed grosbeaks. Also thought I had a costas hummingbird, but not positive.
chipperatl
Good day from basically just my "office" window at home. FOY Orchard Oriole with a first breeding plumage male for the yard, FOY Black-throated Blue Warbler also a breeding plumage male, and just had a male Purple Finch out here. Was trying to record the Black-throated Blue on Merlin, and it said there was a Purple Finch out there. I just assumed it was the Goldfinches it heard and called it wrong.
Peromyscus
This morning I saw 2 Bank Swallows, the first ones I've seen in a few years. At the same place were Northern Roughwings that were foraging really close to us humans in the cold windy weather.
Peromyscus
This afternoon I went looking for a Black Tern found this morning on the other side of my county, and I saw it! I think it's the first one I've seen in 6 years. While there I ran into a teen birder and his mom; the former was doing a big day just in the county and had topped 100 species. Big day was ending in mid-afternoon after almost 14 hours.

Crazy numbers, but they must all be passing overhead. 4 FOY Saturday (Veery, Broad-winged Hawk, Least Flycatcher and Great Crested Flycatcher), only 2 on Sunday (Blue=winged Warbler and Sedge Wren).
Peromyscus
This morning, a late Red-breasted Nuthatch, and what was likely a singing Cape May Warbler that sang twice right as we found the nuthatch but never showed itself.
Aaron
It snowed about 6 inches last night so I thought there’d be some interesting stuff around, especially since Montana had almost a million birds cross over last night, but all I got was a FOY for the ponds spotted sandpiper. ? Had my first clay-coloured sparrow a couple days ago and the yellow-rumps are moving through, but still has been a bit boring here.
Seanbirds
Yardbirds White-rumped Sandpiper, Pectoral Sandpiper, and WILSON'S PHALAROPE!! Also lots of other shorbs, including Least Sand, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Spotted Sandpiper, Solitary Sandpiper, Killdeer, etc.
chipperatl
Looks like today has been my best non-January FOY day with 15, so far. Warblers finally showed up in some decent variety. I think this was the highest BirdCast day so far with 3.5M birds crossing over, and peak of 538K. A very vocal Golden-winged Warbler started the day off, followed by Blackpoll, Chestnut-sided, Blackburnian, Magnolia, Northern Parula, Cape May, American Redstart, Tennessee, to get me 18 warbler today. Also FOY Scarlet Tanager, Indigo Bunting, Lincoln's Sparrow, Red-eyed Vireo, Eastern Wood-Pewee and Chimney Swift.
chipperatl
4 FOY yesterday and 5 more today with a couple of surprises, including a Michigan Review Species (through this year). 5/10 - Cerulean Warbler, Mourning Warbler, Ruby-throated Hummingbird and a rare White-eyed Vireo 5/11 - Philadelphia Vireo, Acadian Flycatcher, Black-billed Cuckoo, Least Sandpiper and Black-necked Stilt (review species and 2nd county record).
chipperatl
Another great day for Spring Migration today. 6 FOY for me - Wilson's Warbler, Bay-breasted Warbler, Prothonotary Warbler, Canada Warbler, Willow Flycatcher, and American Pipit. I dipped on a Semipalmated that was reported last night. I couldn't find it today, unless my pics show those legs were really black. They all looked like Least though size/color/legs though. I am only missing Hooded Warbler from the "non-flaggable" list. Our county overall is at 204. I think last year was our best pace, and at this time was only at 189. Could be a really good year overall. Edited May 12, 2022 by chipperatl
