ausnic44
scaly-breasted Munia is a yard bird and lifer for me, ebird shows as rare for my area, and also as "checkered" or just scaly-breasted. Is it checkered?

Is it checkered? I'm not sure, however I would use caution in reporting this to eBird, as Scaly-breasted Munia are a pet store bird, and the birds you saw are likely escapees. Other people can give more insight in how to report this.
Connor Cochrane
It's fine to put on eBird. There's established populations in Houston and Alabama, and many records in between.
