sbruenjes
I saw these birds today at the Shawangunk Grasslands in Ulster County, NY. I don't have much experience with owls, but based on what else has been reported, I assume these are short-eared owls? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also color and streaking pattern. 3

Hehe I'd be jealous too except I just saw four at Shiawassee https://ebird.org/checklist/S103131359 (although they still haven't confirmed yet)
