Costa Rican Call

Recommended Posts

Probably a long shot, but figured I'd ask if anyone recognized this. Been going through my recordings the last few days and have about 4 unknowns left to go, but this one is particularly annoying as I've recorded it a few times. No species that I've come across makes a similar up and down rapid fire call. Some of the tyrants sound slightly similar, but they are always much slower or not as long. I've thought about long-billed gnatwren as well, but those calls seem to always occur at a much lower pitch among other things. I've gone through many gnatwren recordings, but I haven't yet done a thorough search through the tyrants, so maybe a similar crappy recording will show up when I get through those.

Habitat was dense dry forest.
