dragon49
I've just saw a pair and saw a few more yesterday. I always notice a lot of Turkey Vultures circling high up, but the birds in question had white sections on both wingtips. I'd say the sections extended a little farther than the definition of tips, but the rest of the wings were dark. Didn't have a chance to zoom in. I'm thinking Ospreys. Because of the distance and angles, I didn't see the underbellies. Could they have been anything else? All sightings were in Boynton Beach, Florida. Just looked at pics of Black Vultures in flight - 100% certain of the IDs now. Cool - I don't see a lot these days. Many more Black Vultures were around last winter. The birds were distant, but close enough for me to have noticed the additional white sections if they were present.
