Great Gray Owl flips the script

In case anybody hasn't seen this...

Have you ever had a bird land on your camera or taken a picture like that?

By the way, I have long thought that Great Gray Owls look like Half Dome in Yosemite, and I'm not the only one.  (Warning, if it's needed: that page contains profane language.)  There are Great Gray Owls in Yosemite, and maybe someday someone will get a picture with both in one frame, if not in focus.

Thats' quite a shot!  I did have a Buff Collard Nightjar land on my hat when I was calling it in Colima.  No photo though.

I didn’t know about how Great Grays are friendly! Though I guess it goes along with the friendly stigma of many boreal birds… or maybe it’s just because many of them are Canadian

I’m pretty sure situations like that only occur from birds that have been regularly fed by people…. Even though they said they didn’t bait it, a previously baited owl will still associate people with food.
Though, the great gray I saw definitely seemed unbothered by my presence so maybe they are a bit tame.

I’ve had chickadees and nuthatches land on my camera, which is no where near as interesting
