Finch Fun

Today in Vancouver, WA. I know enough to tell these were not my usual House finches but not enough to decide what they are. Sorry for the crummy photos - good old phone / bino combo. Females definitely have a face pattern that Houses don't and finer streaking. Hopefully someone can piece together enough from them to get me an ID ... The one bird is an orange color variant male.

I don't do subspecies, for the same reason I didn't bring up the one in #6 - it gives you detail-oriented (anal-obsessive) types something to obsess over.  :classic_tongue:

It's everything I can do to keep up with the species I'm likely to see in SC.  No way I'm diving into subs outside the local area!
