Need help with an I.D. of a Dragonfly.

Recommended Posts

That's an amberwing, Perithemis sp.  Both Slough Amberwing and Mexican Amberwing have been recorded in Pinal Co., three times each.  The light color of the body and legs makes me think it's Mexican, but I've never seen either of those species (up here in northern N. M. we only have Eastern Amberwing).

If you don't get a good answer here, you could upload this to Odonata Central, or you could join the Western Odonata group (or probably other groups) on Facebook and ask there, or try Bugguide.  I could also post it to that Facebook group for you.
