Looking to identify several birds in Vancouver BC

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've had a trail cam set up by my garden waterfall for several years now and found the number of birds to be attracted by it staggering (an enjoyable).  Most I've been able to identify but in the past week I've had several new species arrive and am looking to identify them.

Is this a female of juvenile western tanager?

No clue on this one

Swainson's or Hermit thrush?

Black-headed grosbeak (pretty sure on this one)

Wilson's Warbler - juvenile or female?

Thank you all for the feedback, I thought the one bird was a Wilson's warbler.  Is it possible to confirm the identities of these other "yellow" birds.STC_0223.thumb.JPG.e15534988aa95694f0342e7d89cc34f5.JPGSTC_0836.thumb.JPG.2b3943942ce6c9ca1a2d2ce8e5dde793.JPGSTC_1009.thumb.JPG.81daa7b3128fed80de4cb5e7213633ca.JPGSTC_1456.thumb.JPG.453734aef02c88c332b5dbb1ec713300.JPG

I think the first three images would then be Wilson's but what is the fourth?

Looks like a ruby-crowned kinglet to me!

If you mean 'a photo I took of where a kinglet was but I can't find it in the picture (because it took off AGAIN)', I agree.

EDIT Oh, THERE it is.  Never mind.

We're you looking at the right photo? Sorry, I had to ask. After all, you were looking in the wrong car for your binoculars so it's not too much of a stretch to think you might be looking for the Kinglet in the wrong photo. 😁

I think I'll go chase some birds away by pointing my camera at them before@Charlie Spencer suggests that I do something less pleasant.

Saw that coming, did ya?

Yeah, I had the right photo, I completely missed the camouflaged little sucker.  To my eye, he blended right into the rocks.

VERY true... Same with Wilson's warblers.
