I have photographed this bird before.

@IKLland I likewise feel this is a correct identification of a breeding adult. A look through the guide shows a match of many of the field marks: »plain head and neck, gray back (rules out most gulls, including notably Western), pink legs, black and white tail features (unlike Glaucous or Glaucous-winged), orange eyering (unlike Iceland's maroon; bill too large too), and no black ring on bill (unlike California).« However, lighting can definitely affect features like »the shade of its back feathers«, so the location would definitely be useful for this particular photo.
