The first shot of the bird for 08 Jun appears to be a 50/50 toss-up.  I got it on the second guess, but is there a way to differentiate between the two based solely on the first image?  A 'Yes' or 'No' answer will do, so we don't spoil it for others, and we can discuss the details tomorrow.

I wouldn't worry too much about spoiling it for others. I think the majority of us do the puzzles, this and BRDL, before diving into the General Birding Topics part of the forums. This should allow us to avoid spoilers while keeping the discussion relevant to the game of the day.

As for your question, if there is a difference from the view of the first image, it's probably so subtle that it'd be near impossible to detect.

After all, if I can't see a difference, there probably isn't one, or it has to be nearly impossible to detect, right? :classic_cool:

@Jagularr Oh, I've got an idea. If a guess has a correct word in it (i.e. the word turns green), perhaps the tile for that guess should be yellow?

Trying this out. All guesses that partially match will show up as yellow tiles now. Partial matches were already shown on the guess list, this will just make it easier to tell.

What does the yellow box stand for?

The yellow box indicates a partially correct answer. If you typed Northern Cardinal when the answer was Northern Shrike, you'd get a yellow box for getting the Northern part right.
