dragon49 Posted June 15, 2022 Share Posted June 15, 2022 I don't see too many Woodpeckers from the front, but think I recognize the back patterns of a Downy Woodpecker, and it's too small for a Red-Bellied Woodpecker. But the habitat is quite odd. I've only spotted Woodpeckers in trees. This one is perched on some kind of thick reed. Peromyscus Posted June 15, 2022 Share Posted June 15, 2022 It's a Red-bellied Woodpecker. You can see pink in the center of the belly. The bill is too long for Downy and the head is lacking the various black and white markings of that species.
