bobolink2014
Hello. I'm looking for Sandpiper help. Least or Semipalmated or something else? The legs are in the shadow, should they be more yellow if Least? There isn't a lot of smudgy brown on the breast. I'm not sure what else to look for? Aidan B
Pretty sure this is a Least, see that yellowish-green leg and overall brownish plumage. Definitely not a Sanderling.

Not all birds, just a few families like shorebirds, gulls, hummingbirds, ducks, sparrows, warblers, birds of prey, herons, blackbirds, finches, cuckoos, corvids, vireos, flycatchers, woodpeckers, kingfishers, swallows, wrens, and anything in the family Cardinalidae, or Paridae. Other than those few particularly hard families, I've got it down. 1

Definitely start with these! You can do it, Champ!

There are four of them, maybe you are the one who needs to be studying on them, being you don't even know who many of them there are. ?

More likely I can’t remember exactly where the ABA area covers, although we can’t rule out both.

Belted, Green, and Ringed Kingfishers are our regularly occurring Kingfishers in the ABA area, and Amazon Kingfisher is an accidental visitor to south Texas.
Kevin
Ringed, Green, Amazon, and Belted Kingfishers are all seen in Texas, and as far as I know Texas is in the ABA area.

You can do it, Champ! I decided to take your advise, and take a look at my kingfisher photos, and I believe I have got it down now... This Ringed Kingfisher didn't exactly look like I thought it would, but based of the size I don't think it can be anything else. It took a lot of debating but I finely concluded that this must be a Amazon.? This one of course is obviously a Belted Kingfisher. I had this one down as a Green Kingfisher, but I now see my mistake in that, maybe something in the sparrow family? 1

I think it's in the Junco family.
