Fall Migration 2022

First White-throated Sparrows arrived on their typical wintering spot here. I haven't seen any warblers the past few days, unfortunately. There'll be high migration for my county again tonight, though.

And wow, I want to be in Iowa the next few days!

They're here most of the year but they don't visit my feeders after March or so.  They come back to the yard in late April when the river birch seeds are mature, then they're  rarely seen in the summer.

They're extremely common during the breeding season, fairly common during migration, and a somewhat common winter visitor, though in smaller numbers except for a few key spots.
