No, I am looking if any of the libraries have it. If not, I am going to order it. I have heard multiple people say it is a good read.

Add me to that list.  I've read it twice and listened to the audio book at least as many times.

Has anybody read the book Hope Is The Thing With Feathers By Christopher Cokinos? I would highly recommend it. It is about some of the United States most recently extinct birds. The Carolina Parakeet, the Ivory Billed Woodpecker, the Heath Hen, the Labrador Duck, and the Great Auk. Down below is a link to the book if anybody is interested.

And pre ordered this
National Geographic Birding Basics: Tips, Tools, and Techniques for Great Bird-watching

I think I had this one.  If it's the one I'm thinking of, it was primarily a beginning birders book.  Based on your responses here, it may not provide much you haven't already learned.  I can confirm because if this is the same book I'm thinking of, I gave it away to a beginner last year.

If anyone has read any of those books, I’d like to know what you guys thought of them.

Ya know, that's the kind of question you might ask BEFORE you place your orders.  :classic_wink:

Did you order these as physical books or e-books?  I'd like to hear from others who have ordered material in e-book format and what they thought.

I’ve read a ton of reviews on them, was also curious what people here thought of them.

eBook only works for just text books.  Anything with pictures and it falls short.  I bought "Better Birding..." by Armistead and Sullivan and had to buy the hard copy.  Even on iPad it was impossible to read when you want to reference pictures the text is talking about.  Something like Big Year, or Birding without Borders are fine for eBook.  My rule for books now is reference books are hard copy; non-fiction that tells a story or fiction books are eBook.

I picked this book up from a used book store when I was first getting into birding. It’s interesting to read about the various spots but I wish it was less US focused.
