Cantdocell
Hi there, I’m birding in Stowe, VT and need help figuring out a warbler. Yellow-green head and shoulders, gray back, white eye ring, one row white wing bars. Tinge of yellow on sides of tail and primaries. I’m thinking Chestnut-sided, but wouldn’t that have two wing bars? It was traveling in lively flock then landed on my porch.

The Bird Nuts
You are correct, it is a Chestnut-sided warbler! Welcome to the forum, fellow Vermonter! 4
Cantdocell
I’m glad my guess was right. Even though I grew up in Vermont I now live in France and just started birding in the last couple of years. So all the American birds are new lifers!!!

Always fun when you’re birding in an area for the first time and everything is new! Can be challenging and confusing at times but very motivating and mentally stimulating, so much to learn

Avery
Get ready! Fall warbler migration in VT is intense! I had a couple decent sized mixed warbler flocks this week already!
