ricardo00
Saw several hawks hovering and flying around at Pt Reyes, CA yesterday. Don't believe I have seen these before. Think these pics are of the same type of hawk. Any help on IDing them is much appreciated. Ricardo
Avery
I want to say Red-tailed Hawk for the first one, but I am unfamiliar with Swainson’s Hawks so I can’t rule them out. Your second bird is a Cooper’s Hawk.
RobinHood
Also thinking Red-tailed, although the patagials are not very distinct. Agree with Cooper's.
