Leeward Birder
i All, just curious, is this a Marbled or Hudsonian Godwit? Seen in St.Kitts, Caribbean in 2011, Just going through some old photos!
Birds are cool
Looks good for bar tailed, but wait for others.
Hasan
I think this is Black-tailed Godwit, but not super familiar with that species. Either way, this is super super rare, I'd get it on eBird if possible

Leeward Birder
Thanks everyone! I guess it is uncertain exactly which bird it is.
Quiscalus quiscula
I would've also said Bar-tailed Godwit, but looking closer the tail pattern of black and white seems much better for Hudsonian Godwit. Keep in mind that I'm absolutely not an expert on this.
blackburnian
I don’t see why this isn’t a Hudsonian.

Agree, with the tail pattern it can only be Hudsonian or Black-tailed, and Black-tailed is even rarer and has a different bill.
Leeward Birder
Thanks for your responses. What is puzzling me is that the bill seems to be a bit longer that most of the Hudsonions that I have seen. Is that size normal for a Hudsonion? To be honest I really thought that it was a Marbled Godwit, but I guess not, as no one has suggested that it could be a Marbled Godwit! Wish I had more pictures, but I can't find anymore!

I think it's fairly clear that this is a Hudsonian Godwit. It's not a Marbled Godwit because there is not even a trace of buffy, plus it lacks dark bars, etc. This should definitely be put on eBird.
Leeward Birder
OK, Thanks for the clarification. We do see Hudsonion Godwits from time to time, but certainly not every year.
IKLland
Definitely either Hudsonian or Bar-tailed. Bill looks better for bar-tailed, but the tail and wings look better for Hudsonian. I’m not expert, Som I won’t attempt the ID, but it’s not Marbled or Black-tailed.
