I heard them talking about the Blue Jays and I thought, I've seen that, because I've seen large flocks of silent jays heading southeast for about a week now. Thanks for sharing!!
IKLland
Is the finch forecast only for the eastern states and Canada? Couldn’t find anything about the South Pacific coast.

We're rarely mentioned here in the Southeast, but I read the forecast every year anyway. 1

Well, they are mostly focused on the eastern half of the continent, because that's where they have the most data on cone crops, but I get emails when they have blog updates and sometimes they'll talk about the west in some of their other articles, so keep an eye out.

They talked a little about Rocky Mountains I believe. White-winged Crossbill are moving West I think they mentioned. It is mostly focused on the Northeast U.S., Great Lakes, Ontario and points East in Canada. Even here in Michigan we have to extrapolate some as they aren't even specific about here. One author is near Toronto, the other Central N.Y., so there is some bias towards those areas, naturally. The interview definitely expands the website discussion and I hope they keep doing that in the future. 2
