Johnd
Saw this cardinal that seems to have a problem with his reflection. i heard this cardinal making a ruckus as i was heading into a birding area so i went back and watched for a bit but he just kept at it on the windshield and would also move to the side windows. the weird thing was i came back about an hour and 20 minutes later he was still at it.
Charlie Spencer
This is typical 'territory defense' behavior. A lot of species will attack their reflections, mistaking them for another bird encroaching. It's mostly seen in breeding season, though.
