Can anyone help with this one? New visitor to the shelled peanut feeder. I don't have a picture. I thought it was some type of woodpecker at first with its black and white wings and pointed beak feeding on the peanuts. However, other than the wings, it was completely gray with a darker gray patch on its head. No other colors or markings. Couldn't find a picture anywhere. Mid afternoon sighting, Bucks County, PA. Thanks!

Did it have black and white barring on its back?  Try juvenile Red-bellied Woodpecker (here's a photo: http://thedrummonds.com/Tree-climbing_Birds/PHOTOS/Red-bellied_WP_I_5865.JPG)

Thank you for your reply. Yes, it did have black and white barring on its back but it's breast and head were definitely gray, not white. I suppose it may still be a juvenile.

Juvenile Red-bellied Woodpecker's head and body are not white.  Take a look at other photos of them and you'll see that they're gray.  https://www.google.com/search?q=juvenile+Red-bellied+Woodpecker&client=firefox-b-1&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjE4Mewn5XcAhUHmuAKHQdsDEUQ_AUICigB&biw=1600&bih=770&dpr=1.2#imgrc=id41QXvYf9W5kM:
