Seattle
This falcon was photographed on the north coast of WA across from Vancouver Island. We agree that it's likely a peregrine based on the helmet - but we are questioning the wide white stripe on the tail. Most peregrine falcons have a small stripe but not that wide. Any thoughts? Melierax
Oof that's an odd photo, almost looks like an Eastern Kingbird. I agree with Peregrine Falcon, I think the white stripe looks fine. The breast markings mean it's not a Merlin, AMKE, or PRFA, so you're pretty much left with PEFA. Also its shape looks good.
Seattle
The locals were thinking that this might be a "tundrias" sub species. I have no idea what this is other than looking at some photos. Do they come down this far south?
blackburnian
I’d say Peregrine as well.
