sbruenjes
I saw these birds at Cape May, NJ yesterday. The bird behind the American widgeon has e a bit confused. I want to say blue-winged teal, but I'm not certain. Amy help would be greatly appreciated.
PaulK
Female Ring-necked duck IMO: dark back, light ring near bill tip, dark cap. I think it looks funny because the body may be pointed away from the camera so is being foreshortened. But wait for confirmation from someone more knowledgeable! 6

Female Redhead can be similar but doesn’t have as much white on the face. 3
