Little Bird Loves our Dembaya Tree

Recommended Posts

I'm in Boca Raton, FL and I have a Dembaya tree which attracts bees and most recently, a hummingbird.

I recently saw a new visitor which I can't ID. It's very small, hops around on the tree, and drinks from the flowers.

I do have a Painted Bunting couple, but I'm pretty sure this isn't her.

Thanks

That looks like an American Pipit, kind of a weird spot for one.

Oh, good; it's not just me.  I normally don't mind making a fool of myself here, but even I was reluctant to go there.

My first thought was Palm Warbler. Look at the yellow on its butt.

Agreed. But, I can’t actually tell if that’s a reflection or the actual color of the bird.

It didn't look as yellow as the pictures I'm seeing and it also seemed "slimmer" whereas the pics I'm seeing of the palm warbler look more chunky, like a sparrow.

Is it possible this is either a female or a juvenile?

The shape of birds often look different depending on their pose and the temperature. Male and female Palm Warblers look very similar, and the yellow individuals you're seeing online are likely of the Yellow subspecies of Palm Warblers, which look brighter and more yellow than the drabber Western subspecies that you photographed.
