Birds are cool
I just looked at my year list, and I don't have any Mallards on there even though I have seen them 3 times. How does ebird figure out if I saw a domestic Mallard or a true Mallard?

How does ebird figure out if I saw a domestic Mallard or a true Mallard? Did you enter them as "Mallard (Domestic type)"? Those count as escapees, while plain "Mallard" are accepted. Example: https://ebird.org/checklist/S126087612 The three birds with a brown asterisk on this list don't count. I entered them as Mallard I don't see the brown asterisk on the checklist, but on my trip report I do.
chipperatl
Still some weird stuff. eBird has my lifer House Finch from 2018 in CA, but not the ones seen 5 years prior. The non-CA bird have the Naturalized tag on them, but not the CA birds.
