Zoroark
Requesting confirmation on this one. I'm pretty sure this is a first-winter male Common Goldeneye at Lake Mead. Barrow's have been reported in several places nearby recently, but this bird doesn't seem to have the markings in the same location an immature Barrow's would.
gpoole
The sloping forehead and the white patches on the wings would suggest a Common Goldeneye. Wait for an expert. 6
Charlie Spencer
The comparison on AAB agrees with @gpoole
RobinHood
Agree with Common Goldeneye - sloping forehead and large bill. You can also see where the rest of the white face circle is starting to appear - quite often the partial circle matches a Barrow's for a while. 2
