Birds are cool
The Augusta Canal is going to be drained on Monday and refilled on March 20th. They are doing this to repaint and move part of the canal. My father and I might visit the canal trail that goes along the canal and look for birds. The mudflats that are left should be good for sandpipers and stuff like that. https://www.augustachronicle.com/story/news/2019/01/24/augusta-canal-being-drained-for-repairs/6204545007/
Charlie Spencer
Good luck! I just posted elsewhere that a pond near me has been lowered. Usually that results in shorbs but since this is winter, we haven't seen anything uncommon yet. You might want to wait until March and keep an eye on migration reporting sites. EDIT @Birds are cool, the article you linked to is four years old! Did you get the wrong one? Edited February 5 by Charlie Spencer 1

I was looking at the last time it was drained and the current info on the drainage of the Augusta Canal. I guess I copied the wrong link.
