Start your engines! (Sorry for the over-enthusiasm, I’m a big NASCAR fan) I would like to see your best photos of waterfowl. Winner gets to be my IOS wallpaper and 2nd and 3rd will, too (eventually). I shall commence the race with this photo of a Bufflehead from an aviary. GO!!!

I KNEW there had to be another one here!

No, it's not a waterfowl but it's perched on a temporary parking lot light outside turn 4 at Darlington.

1800

Also from The Lady in Black, from the wetlands that's between the front stretch vendor display area and the south parking lot.

1800

My Darlington life list: https://ebird.org/lifelist/L6789104.

I have seen Canada Geese nesting at Bristol where the creek wraps around the parking lot outside 1 and 2 but I don't have photos.  Boy, can they keep the fans at a distance!

The true road courses offer some good birding too.

Yeah, it was about 5 years ago, I was sitting at the end looking for the immature male king eiders that were there and I look over and see a wood duck sitting there with some eiders, as I am raising my lens a boat spooked them all and I got the two of them taking off, crazy to see one out there...

That's crazy, pretty much the last species I would expect to see there. Don't think I've ever seen one in the bay even. By the way, here's an immature King from a couple years ago there.
