Check out how cool this immature WCSP looks! The head pattern is so awesome, it’s really cool to see how it’s molting into its adult plumage this time of year.

It really is cool!

YOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Thank you so much for reminding me! I’ve never tried it before and really want to this year! Looks like a lot a ducks expected this time of year. All would be lifers except NOSH!

Snakes are already waking up here in north Florida. My husband and I found this Cottonmouth out riding our bikes. It hissed and bared it's fangs at my husband as he passed it by doing a 100 mile an hour. He hates snakes. Of course, I stopped 6 feet away for a few photos. Yes I bring an old camera along when we ride bikes.

I thought you meant the Cottonmouth was riding your bikes(two at once?) for a moment there. I was like: “oh no! The snakes are already becoming more advanced! Soon it won’t just be Florida, once they figure out how to drive cars with heated seats! The end is nigh!!!”

I know I'm a terrible writer.

The Back-and-white Warblers have started singing again, so have the Field Sparrows and the Common Yellowthroats. Hoping to get a couple warbler species while kayaking tomorrow.

My husband and I have recently taken up kayaking. What fun! Not real easy to bird but I'm hoping as we get more experience we will be able to take a kayak to places not frequently birded. We shall see though as seniors we just aren't sure if we have enough stamina yet. Tides also weigh in on some of the places we want to kayak.

Never tried kayaking, but I have canoed before(wasn’t paddling tho). That was so fun! Got my lifer Belted Kingfisher that way, wish I was more of a birder at the time though. Good luck @Clip and @Birds are cool! May many warblers arrange a beauty contest on your kayaks.

It's all in the speed and distance. Take your time - you'll see more anyway.

Got some flyover pelicans in the yard yesterday! Also been seeing some movement from Franklin's gulls and waterfowl as well.

Do the Franklin's have on their pale pink breeding plumage yet?

Not that I've been able to tell.

Also, from what I've seen anyway, the pale pink stuff is VERY subtle when it's present usually, and I practically never even see it at all. Maybe other people do but I sure don't. 🤷‍♂️

It is very very pale pink but in good lighting...it can be seen in the spring.

More singing and breeding activity from the songbirds. Killdeer are back in force, and I've had flocks of Horned Larks, Double-crested Cormorants, and more. Also had a Red-tailed Hawk that was clearly migrating over.

Soon the Lincoln's, Vesper, and Savannah Sparrows should start popping up, as well as Yellow-rumped Warblers and Eastern Phoebes.
