Mindy Smith
Seen at Lost Lake in Fresno, CA today. Have so much trouble telling these apart. The chest and head seem good for Cooper's but the legs do look thin and the tail in the second shot square. Help appreciated.
Aidan B
I'd say this looks good for Cooper's.

The Bird Nuts
Narrow light brown streaks and obviously graduated tail feathers = Cooper's.
Mindy Smith
Thanks but don't understand what you mean about graduated tail feathers. Nice to have you weight in. I always learn from reading your posts.

I always learn from reading your posts. Looking the the folded tail in photo one, the outer tail feathers (the ones that don’t have any other feathers “on top” of them) are shorter than the central ones. Sharpies have equally long tail feathers. Hope that helps!
