BobInSwamp
This morning, after I had photographed a Red-shouldered hawk at the NATL on the UF campus, I spotted what I thought was another RSH high up in a dead pine tree and took a couple of quick photos. I should have looked closer as it appears to be something else. Would someone please take a look at these two marginal photos and tell me if this is an immature Cooper's Hawk or maybe a Sharp-shinned hawk? Thanks for any assistance. PascalNJ
Red-tailed Hawk. You can actually see the red tail. Plus belly band. Cooper's and Sharp Shinned have long tails and short wings.
BobInSwamp
Thank you so much for clearing this up! I hadn't considered the red-tailed. Best wishes bob
