Charlie Spencer
Mississippi. Lexington County, central SC, July 2019. I was on my way home from a hot spot and thought I'd take a shortcut. The bird was perched 25 feet or so above someone's driveway. The homeowner wondered why I was parked in front of his house...

IKLland
I’ve only ever seen white tailed kites, and they’ve all been really far away.

Connor Cochrane
I wish I knew how to take better photos at the time, as in the four years since I have never gotten anywhere near as close as I did with this kite
Clip
I have seen 3 different species of Kite and have photos of all of them so the choice came down to this one because no one else had posted Snail Kite yet. @Johnd I'm jealous of your White-tailed Kite. I don't have it yet. Was hoping to find one last week while in south Florida alas is was not to be.

Perhaps an angle that shows the necessary 'Made in Canada or Made in USA' markings to prove it's a North American kite? ?

We went by the area but didn't stop to bird. The one bad thing about vacationing with our granddaughter. She is not into birds so our time gets spent mostly keeping her entertained.

chipperatl
Not my best, but I like that is shows Red-headed Woodpeckers doing the same thing an Acorn Woodpecker does…stashing acorns.
