I obviously have other PIWOs shots, but these two flew in, feuding, as I got out of the car to order lunch that day. And then the bee landed on the back of my neck, stung when I swatted, and it was Epipen time and a trip to the ER. Clip Posted December 5, 2022 Share Posted December 5, 2022 I have seen a ton of these and they are often cooperative for photos. I have a lot to choose from in my easy to find Woodpecker folder. Are you in Sacramento County itself? Or are you out in the foothills in Placer, Amador or EL Dorado counties. I took this in Oct 2012, two light poles down from my house. I thought it was odd to see a Pileated in town, though there are quite a few trees around here.
