Charlie Spencer
Downtown Lexington, SC. March, 2020. I obviously have other PIWOs shots, but these two flew in, feuding, as I got out of the car to order lunch that day. And then the bee landed on the back of my neck, stung when I swatted, and it was Epipen time and a trip to the ER. Did they manage to save the bee at the ER???

RobinHood
The local ones are really shy so any photo is a good one.

IKLland
Somehow I missed them on my NY trip this summer. Hopefully I’ll get them in Florida in a month.
Bird Brain
I've never gotten a decent photo of one. (I've personally never found @Charlie Spencer to be very photogenic). Ironically, the photo below was taken here in Sacramento, two light poles down from my house.
MacMe
Cell phone cameras are great, but not for bird pictures. And that is all I had for this photo

Seanbirds
Their wingspan is so impressive. Absolutely majestic in flight.
lonestranger
While not very frequent visitors in the past, I used to see them in the yard at least a few times a year, until I moved here. I have yet to see one in my yard since we moved here two years ago.

Clip
I have seen a ton of these and they are often cooperative for photos. I have a lot to choose from in my easy to find Woodpecker folder. I know I have even more but I was too lazy to look in my dated folders. The dated folders contain thousands of photos so no easy task.

Are you in Sacramento County itself? Or are you out in the foothills in Placer, Amador or EL Dorado counties. I'm asking because there are ZERO Pileated Woodpecker records for Sac County, so that would be the first county record!

I took this in Oct 2012, two light poles down from my house. I thought it was odd to see a Pileated in town, though there are quite a few trees around here. Never thought about it being any kind of record, though...... 3

Certainly not where I would expect the first county record to show up!
