I have three observations of a Great-crested Flycatcher from last September and October, but it's one of my ten non-photo lifers; in fact, I've never seen one. The second observation was frustrating, as I was very close to one, but the dense foliage made it impossible to get any visuals. I got good audio to post for my initial lifer observation and heard the unmistakable call on two other occasions. The only reason why I have an Ash-throated Flycatcher is that I when a bird on my county needs alert also shows up on my county rare bird alert, I generally chase it, as long as it isn't more than a half hour away. The Ash-throated met the criteria and I found it. I have both in Florida but definitely got Great Crested first. Ash throated are pretty rare.
