lonestranger
I have enough Common Nighthawk shots that it's hard to decide which one isn't the worst. 9

They generally present themselves when there isn't enough light, and are usually zipping through the sky, both of which make good photos hard to get!!

I actually kind of like this one. It shows more of the white pattern under the chin so to speak of the bird than most photos do. Cool shot! I guess I have been extremely lucky in having seen a number of them perched. Also I believe it is in late August/September they begin their feeding frenzy to nourish themselves to migrate south for the winter and are more likely to be seen during day light hours. So late afternoon.

stitch58
Was going through some old shots & found a couple shots I had forgotten about. Terrible pictures but what made it unusual was that it was taken during a pelagic 65 miles off the coast of Cape May. We also had an Osprey & a Great Blue Heron.

IKLland
I saw eastern phoebes in Florida, but i didn’t get a half decent photo. say’s phoebe. I have a few really good shots, but I like this one best. If I can’t post both, I’ll have a mod delete one.

The Bird Nuts
I love Eastern Phoebes. They remind me of the house I grew up in.
