Do Western have a bit of droop in the bill?  If not, Least.

Westerns do have a drooped bill, but their breast is not usually as prominently streaked as these birds.

So another birder posted these same birds as Pectorals.  🤷‍♀️

I am trying to learn to use the primary projection-to-tail comparisons, but not yet well-practiced in that.  Can I get your opinion on these birds, @DLecy ?

There are no way the birds in your photo are Pectoral. The shape and proportions are all wrong. Just look at this photo:

Least Sandpiper is correct. If this was at the hotspots called "OWA Entertainment Destination," I flagged the pics that were misidentified Least Sandpipers, and were not Pectoral Sandpipers.

Pectorals had not even been on my radar, as these were not medium-sized sandpipers--there was a Black-necked Stilt for comparison. Also, the habitat was wrong--no grass to speak of, and the foraging methods were more like Leasts (staying on the sandy parts, not getting in the water).

Excellent comparison photo in the link.  Thank you!
